The offerings used to purify a space before worship - water for the ground, camphor for the air, resin and fragrance for the atmosphere. Shuddhi precedes every act of invocation. Without it, the space is unprepared, and the ritual begins on unstable ground.
Every element must have a named provenance. Water sourced from a specific spring, camphor from a specific still, gaumutra aged for a specific duration. Provenance is not a marketing label. It is the structural requirement of shuddhi - you cannot purify a space with a material whose own origin is impure.
