Before Gomini was a puja-samagri brand, it was a conversation with a farmer in the Darjeeling foothills. Our supply chain still begins there.
The Chain
Over one hundred thousand conversations. More than one thousand gaushalas visited across the country. From that census, we chose the Darjeeling foothills as our base - because the Siri cattle, the mountain grass, and the altitude produce a raw material that plains-reared cattle cannot.
Our own farm and workshop sit in the foothills of the Himalayas in Darjeeling district. This is where cow-dung cakes are hand-shaped, where oils are pressed on a wooden ghani the old way, and where every partner-supplier we work with is on record.
Samagri is weighed, blended, and packaged in small batches at altitude. Panchagavya is aged as the classical texts prescribe. Ashtagandha is stone-ground. Nothing is outsourced.
We do not deliver to homes. Every module reaches a devotee through a pandit we work with, or a retail partner we have chosen. This is intentional.
The Breed Principle
In the Darjeeling foothills, that breed is Siri - humpless, shorthorn, hardy, grazing between 1,200 and 3,000 metres. ICAR recognises Siri as one of India's registered indigenous cattle breeds. Their milk is thicker, cooler, richer in the fat that classical Bilona churning turns into A2 ghee. The dung they produce, dried at altitude, holds its shape as a gomay diya the way plains-cow dung cannot.
But this principle is not limited to one breed or one district. Gomini's mission is to source cow dung, cow urine, and milk from farmers who rear the native breed of their particular geography - Gir in Gujarat, Sahiwal in Punjab, Red Sindhi in the Thar, Kangayam in Tamil Nadu. Each breed evolved over centuries for its climate and its pasture. That terroir enters the samagri.

Every region Gomini enters, we identify the native breed and source from the farmers who rear it. One geography at a time.
This is our terroir claim - as specific and defensible as any wine region's. The breed, the pasture, the altitude, the water. We do not mix origins.
The foothills of the Eastern Himalayas produce a specific character of raw material. Cool nights slow the milk. Mountain water carries different minerals. The pastures are unploughed and unsprayed. The resins and botanicals for our Ahuti and Shanti modules grow in the same belt. Preparing samagri where its ingredients live is not romance - it is what the classical texts assumed as default. We are merely returning to it.
Certifications describe the end of a supply chain. Traceability describes the beginning. We know the farmer's name. We know the pasture the cow grazed on. We know the age of the ghee. We show that, when asked, to every partner we sign.
The people who make Gomini possible are the farmers, pandits and retailers we work with. When they are ready, their words will appear here, in their own voice.
